SAILING THE STORM IN LONG BEACH
Last Monday Sebastian and me decided to make it a company holiday and we went sailing in Long Beach.
Our friend Todd took us on his boat for a good cruise in the Long Beach harbor area. We were kind of
sceptical about the weather conditions at first, as the wind was blowing at 25-30 miles/hour and there
had even been a warning for small watercraft vehicles not to leave the shore. However, Todd was confident
and we decided to give it a GO!

At least now I know what "heeling" means. Yes, this is when the boat leans to one side because of the wind.
We now have a pretty good idea of heeling as you can see on the pics and we all got our fair share of spray
and got thoroughly washed. It was really fun, though and we had a blast.
Thanks again, Todd!

It was only later that I found out, that Todd is the kind of guy who is brave enough to catch live rattlesnakes with his bare hands, then fries and eats them... No wonder he was so calm about the heavy weather conditions.

SURVIVAL RESEARCH LABS GO CRAZY IN LA'S CHINATOWN
Last Saturday we went to see this crazy performance of SRL (www.srl.org). It was the closest I ever got to experiencing a true war situation. Godzilla, Alien-like Robots, an out-of-control Hovercraft & a fire spitting fork lifter - all battling each other
and making a huge noise. The machines were actually banging on the thin wooden boards which were supposed to protect
the audience. They sure were successfull according to their concept. "You cannot really trust anybody. And we don't want you to trust us!", as one of their spokesman said in a video documentary. What else can I say, ...pretty awesome!

COMMERCIAL SHOOT / LUCY LIU
Yesterday I was working on my first big commercial shoot in Long Beach
and then today Lucy Liu is calling our office and I talked to her!!!,...
staggering for words. You don't hear the words "This is Lucy Liu.."
on the phone very often. SMILE!
She then had a phone interview with Jessica for the Angeleno magazine.
Here in the West, THINGS BREAK BIG ! Oh my god...

The pic shows the private home where we shot the commercial.
All big trucks, good catering, a separate tent for the VIPs, etc...

SUNSET IN ECHO PARK
...just another one of these beautiful sunsets.
This is actually really close to our office.

FINGERED AT THE GULTCH
A crazy place which has a Karaoke Bar, Sushi Bar and Country style restaurant with
dancefloor in one building. There was the "Fingered #2" event last night with
some striking country stlye line dancing in a modern Venice Carneval remix version.
And Jessica of DRAW was spinning the tables playing rare 60's soul as "Lady Fingered".
The pics show: Jessica at work, Dancers of the Hysteria Dance Co., DRAW director Michael
with talented & upcoming screenwriter/director Anna. A lovely night!

THE DISNEY HALL
I finally did some culture in LA, going to Frank Gehry's Disney Hall.
My friend Anna was so nice and invited me to a theatre play at the Red Cat
which is inside the Disney Hall. It was "The Exonerated" by the
Actor's Gang, which is Tim Robbins' group. A little moralizing,
but good.
