SAILING THE STORM IN LONG BEACH
Last Monday Sebastian and me decided to make it a company holiday and we went sailing in Long Beach.
Our friend Todd took us on his boat for a good cruise in the Long Beach harbor area. We were kind of
sceptical about the weather conditions at first, as the wind was blowing at 25-30 miles/hour and there
had even been a warning for small watercraft vehicles not to leave the shore. However, Todd was confident
and we decided to give it a GO!
At least now I know what "heeling" means. Yes, this is when the boat leans to one side because of the wind.
We now have a pretty good idea of heeling as you can see on the pics and we all got our fair share of spray
and got thoroughly washed. It was really fun, though and we had a blast.
Thanks again, Todd!
It was only later that I found out, that Todd is the kind of guy who is brave enough to catch live rattlesnakes with his bare hands, then fries and eats them... No wonder he was so calm about the heavy weather conditions.
